It was a privilege to attend the Homelessness QLD Conference and contribute to the important conversations shaping our sector.
I had the opportunity to speak about the Protea Place and Apiary Women's Hub model — work that sits at the critical intersection of domestic and family violence, homelessness, recovery, and prevention.
Every day, we see the complex and interconnected challenges women face when experiencing violence, housing insecurity, and social disadvantage. Our model is built on the belief that safety, connection, and early intervention are essential to breaking cycles of homelessness and supporting long-term recovery.
The conference provided a valuable platform to share learnings, hear innovative approaches from across the state, and strengthen our collective commitment to creating pathways that not only respond to crisis but also prevent it.
Thank you to Homelessness Queensland for bringing together such a passionate and dedicated community of practitioners, advocates, and leaders. The work continues, and collaboration remains one of our greatest strengths. 🩷🏡🩷
