PROTEA PLACE

Thanks to Rosalie House Cellar Door Restaurant

Thank you to Rosalie House Cellar Door Restaurant for another incredible Charity Grape Stomp!

At this event we were raising funds for Protea Place Women's Support Centre and Hope Horizons Inc.

Our service is totally funded by the Toowoomba community and receives no Government funding to assist us despite our numerous pleas for help. We assist around 2000 women and children each year and numbers are rising.  We will not stop fighting for vulnerable people in our community.

We are the only service of our type for this entire region.  Toowoomba & Warwick... you have single handedly made our work possible.

We recently raised $150k to help keep our doors open. This is a godsend and buys us time. The housing crisis and economic disaster is not going away and just keeps biting harder with each day.

We are so grateful for the generous support we receive xx

A huge thank you! A huge thank you to James from Southern Queensland Correctional Centre (Women’s Reintegration Programs) who recently won a Schulte's meat voucher and on-gifted it to Protea Place. Such a thoughtful gesture and so appreciated!

Today, we had the absolute honour of handing over the keys of a new home to Jenny and Lulu. A most deserving lady and her fur baby are now safe after 8 months of homelessness with her precious fur baby. After 5 1/2 months sleeping in the park she found her way to Protea Place. She then spent 2 1/2 months in emergency accommodation but she never gave up and neither did we With a massive thanks to: Our incredible partners from Beddown . The Good Night Initiative for jumping in to help. To the wonderful team from Footprints Community . To the Housing Older Women Support Service for their generous contribution towards our Welcome Home Project. To the Team from the Toowoomba Housing and the Toowoomba Housing Service Centre . To the Protea Place team for their unrelenting integrated case management and advocacy. To the lady who stopped us in Kmart when we were buying items for this home and gave a $100 voucher towards the cost! To all of our supporters who make our work possible She’s Home. She’s Safe. Thank you xx

A massive thank you! Shout out to Warwick Town & Country Vets who generously supported one of our clients this week and her much loved pet who have been experiencing homelessness. When families are displaced, so are their fur babies. This little family has now been assisted into temporary accommodation until a forever home can be secured. The Protea Place team responded quickly to create a solution. The housing crisis is having devastating impacts in rural and regional areas and we are working hard to help where we can. Thank you to Cornerstone Homelessness Services in Warwick for all you do and helping to create a safe pathway for this family. Collaboration is the key at Protea Place!
