PROTEA PLACE

Thanks to The Millmerran Collective

Apr 16, 2023

Today it was our absolute pleasure to have the beautiful women from Millmerran Collective for a Thank you Morning Tea.

In March, this incredible group of women raised $32,000 for PP at their inaugural IWD Luncheon.

We are still blown away by this generosity and love. Thank you also to our wonderful Mayor Paul Antonio for popping in to say thanks and congratulate them on an exceptional effort.

Thank you Thank you Thank you xxxx

Ps Our Queen of the Kitchen didn’t disappoint with her famous and delicious treats. We love you Gabs.

Walk Against Domestic Violence and Remembrance Ceremony
02 May, 2024
Thank you to Domestic Violence Action Centre for such a heartwarming evening! Heartwarming to see so many people come together for the Domestic Violence Action Centre Walk Against Domestic Violence and Remembrance Cereomony. Heartbreaking to know another 29 women have lost their lives this year already. The shoes lined up as a symbol of never forgetting the women and children taken is something that is etched on our hearts and minds. It was so wonderful to see the community support there and schools! xx

Thank you Andrew! Andrew Wielandt from DP Wealth Advisory has been a longtime supporter of Protea Place and has stepped up to provide his support to us through what may be the biggest fight for our future. Thank you to Little Pig Consulting for creating another awesome video. We can’t wait to see what unfolds in 2024 with your support xx
Steph Andrews

Rest Peacefully Steph, Every so often we get an email that stops us in our tracks. Today was one of those days. Stephanie Andrews (Steph) lived with Disability and was supported by YellowBridge QLD for 15 years. She endured many struggles during her lifetime and we've just been told that in the early days she would have really benefited from being able to access the services of organisations like Protea Place and what we have to offer. She was an advocate for supporting vulnerable women and giving them hope, knowing that there is a better life for them. Steph had wanted to become a volunteer at Protea Place however she did not get this opportunity as she passed away from Cancer in December 2023. Stephs photo will be placed in Protea Place along with other women who have passed but who leave a lasting legacy of care to their community. Thank you Steph, we'll miss your big smile!
